Tom Moore Heating and Cooling recently changed out our heat pump system.  In the process, we had some special requests, relocating the outdoor unit to a location away from our Master Bedroom, upsizing the unit to 4 ton from 3 ton, upgrading the efficiency to 15 SEER from 10, getting better airflow to the far end of the house and upsizing the heat strips for the backup  heat.  All were handled easily by Tom and company.

They showed up when they said they would.  They came prepared to do the work and got right to it.  They did a neat and professional job and we could not be more pleased.  Our prior system was not quite up to the task of a hot Florida summer, ran noisily and nearly constantly when temps were in the 90s, until it stopped completely.  Now, the system runs much less, with some help from the attic vent fans which Tom could have provided, but were already in place from prior attempts to help the old system, runs very quietly and the house is as cool and comfortable as we could hope.  Thanks Tom and gang for a great job.

It is without reservation that I recommend both American Standard and Tom Moore Heating and Cooling. In August of last year Jonathan Moore of Tom Moore Heating and Cooling removed my old air conditioning unit and installed my new American Standard system.
My husband and I purchased our house in May 2007. Previously we had a Carrier and our electric bills were approaching $500 per month. Our highest bill was $468! We thought our windows were to blame but Progress Energy did a complimentary home assessment and said it was our air conditioning unit. Tom himself came out, assessed our needs and gave me an estimate. Jonathan and another technician arrived within days to start the job. They had already gotten a permit for their work and posted it accordingly. The worked quickly, quietly and efficiently. They tried very hard to limit the amount of time we were without air. We have four small children and very much appreciated their thoughtfulness. Because of the children they loaned us a portable air conditioner so the children could sleep in comfort.
Our house was built in 1958, as such the vents and returns were no longer able to handle modern demands. They worked with me to locate the new return in an area that didn't cause a conflict with the decor of the house. Jonathan filled in and dry walled over our old return so that all we have to do is paint it. He also installed and framed out the new return and saved me from having to hire a handyman. But more importantly, he cleaned up every speck of dust and debris created by the job. He laid down sheeting and was careful not to cause more damage than necessary to complete the job. He even vacuumed up after himself!
I am delighted to inform you that the month after our new American Standard Unit was installed our electric bill was $138! Since then Jonathan has come back to change my filter and check that the system is working properly and we have never had a bill higher than $300 even in the dead of summer when the air runs every day, all day.
Needless to say, I am thrilled with Tom Moore Heating and Cooling and our new American Standard system. As you know, in Florida there can be a great disparity in temperatures from day to day. We have had to run our heat one day only to have to turn on the air a few days later. Because American Standard is such a wonderful system and Tom Moore Heating and Cooling installed it for maximum efficiency, I never have to worry that my American Standard unit won't be there for me.
